Well I thought I would start a thread documenting the slow assembly of a GC8.
The car started as a jdm RHD import and has been slowly modified over the years.
Here is a link showing the first builds.

The car was a solid 10 sec car but I felt we had reached the max potential with the setup.

So we have stripped her down and trying to produce a 1000HP 2.5lt all alcohol motor running a twin scroll UR GT4202 kit.

the goal is to get into the 8's with a manual box.

The first order of the day has been to shed weight.we have gone to an all composite body, doors, fenders, trunk, Aluminum hood(lighter than the CF one I had :))

I had ordered a drivers image intake manifold. when I received it I was disappointed with what had been done and between Ron and Gregg they decided to fabricate a new one the new manifold has intake horns and nicely finished porting, I hope it performs well.
If it doesn't I will have an extrude honed stocker waiting in the wings :)

1st manifold.

Suspension is one of three manufactured for ESX for thier drag car.
I hope it works well the guys at perfection are very helpful so I am sure they will help me tweak it.
The picture shows the helper springs on the front but they actually go on the back struts.

The rear suspension parts are from Poltec (trailing arms, lateral links) for weight reduction along with a Torqline CF drive shaft and ultralight brakes from The Brakeman LTD and a hydraulic handbrake so there is no rear drums to add weight to the rear unsprung assembly. Tyres are be 10" Hoosier slicks all round.

Well progress had been slow but I have the fuel tank in and the fuel lines to the engine bay. I have had some fun fabricating CF sheets and a CF/kevlar firewall.
I removed the spare wheel well and made a CF floor for the trunk.
The dash is back in as well.
we just finished a new floor for the car which is completely flat from front to rear it now looks like a formula 1 car underneath :) I will post some pics of that tomorrow.
